Welcome to the Official Website of the 2017 Connecticut Kaleidoscope Conference!
The Kaleidoscope Conference was started in 2016 after a group of students in the Somers High Gender-Sexuality Alliance expressed concern with the prices of some other conferences offered around the state. After discussions with both students and staff, we decided to organize the first conference of its kind; a conference created and run by students for other students and staff of Unity-Oriented and GSA groups in Connecticut.
Each year, a theme is chosen for the conference, which is used to find guest speakers and design workshops for participants. Over the past few years, there have been many global changes and conflicts that have caused us all to re-examine what we believe and how we identify. This examination served as the inspiration for the 2017 Kaleidoscope Conference theme, "We Have Faced the Test of Time and Still We Climb".
This year, our GSA will be partnering with our Unity Team to offer two different workshops. Participants will have the ability to attend both selections. These workshops will be complemented by activities which encourage students to meet other students and to further the discussion started during the conference.
